Dewey Chess is a parent-run chess club and chess team based at Dewey Elementary School in Evanston, Illinois. More than 65 students in grades K-5 participate. The Chess Club welcomes Dewey students regardless of chess ability, and meets once a week during the school year. The Chess Team is a group of students who know how to play chess and enjoy competing in local, state and national scholastic tournaments. The Chess Team meets one evening per week during the November-April tournament season for practice and tutoring. |
